I have a Maytag Ensignia washer that runs fine until the rinse cycle. For some reason, the tub will not stop filling during the rinse cycle and it overflows. The water flow stops on its own during the wash cycle, but something is preventing the water flow to stop during the rinse cycle. Is the water flow controlled by two different components during the two cycles? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Interesting. If it is overflowing it should happen consistently. Could be the timer, but post a model number so we can see what machine you have. Also tell us if it stops overflowing when you shut off the machine, or if you have to shut off the water.
