Model Number: GLTF1040ASO Brand: Frigidaire Age: 1 - 5 years
I have a frigidaire Gallery front loading washer that leaks water at the door. I took off the front panel and tried to feel and see where the leak was coming from. It isn't coming from inside the machine or the "tub" and leaking to the front, it is actually coming from the door/rubber boot. It remains dry behind the boot, on the inside of the machine. I've had it for about 3 years. Do I need to replace my door boot, or is my door out of alignment and how can I tell? Anyone else have this problem? We're military and can't afford an expensive service call to tell us we need to spend hundreds of dollars. Also, is it hard to replace it yourself? Thanks in advance.

If the front of the door boot is glued there is a update boot kit that comes with instructions... Sometimes you can pull out slightly at top while pushing in at bottom of door to reflex it (works sometimes) the boot kit is supposed to eliminate the door leak

Do you know where I could find this update kit? Also, I'm not sure what you mean by "reflexing" the door. Is this to sort of put it into alignment? Thanks though, an update kit sounds better than replacing the whole thing. I'm not sure if mine is glued or not. I'll have to check but I think the manual has it held in with a spring or some sort.

does anyone know how difficult it is to replace this door boot by the way? Does the whole machine have to come apart and does the door boot kit come with instructions? Any experience on this one? Thanks again.

I fixed one of these. I pulled off the door and took it apart. I sanded between the mating door faces, smeared them with silicon cement and put back together, this worked fine!! Please post results.
