COLD/COLD setting does not initiate water filling the tub.
WARM/COLD and HOT/COLD both work fine including cold water when appropriate. Cold water also comes in if I use the Rinse setting.

It isd possible the timer is the problem, but a little more likely the temp selection switch is the culprit. Since it is substantially less expensive than the timer I would replace it first. Here is the part. Part number: AP2045829

My washer is not in those model numbers. If the temp selection switch is broken, how would it still allow cold water during other cycles?

This is the switch listed for your model. Those model numbers are not complete, but if you are concerned call in the order to APP or whomever you buy parts from and confirm.
Yes, the switch can cause your problem and still work on other settings.

There are three or four screws in the top of the console that hold it on. They may be Torx. Take them out and you get access to the switch.
