How do u use a jumper to check a lid switch

Take out the two screws that hold the console to the cabinet and flip it up.
Disconnect the lid switch and use a solid copper insulated wire with the insulation stripped at the ends. Insert the two ends into the non green wire holes on the connector coming from the console (probably the outside holes) and you have by passed the switch.
