Our machine was in a normal wash/rinse cycle when it stopped and the laundry room filled with smoke. I rocked the wash barrel back-n-forth and was able to get it to complete the rinse/spin. For the past 4 days, we've done one load per day and can smell the rubber burn/smoke, but it hasn't stopped the machine from operating. I believe there's a belt that needs replacing and eventually it will break if I don't repair it.

Any ideas? Is this an easy task for a DIY-guy with little experience? Thanks.
