I Have a maytag washer. It doesn't spin but you can hear the time running and a click noise when it's time to spin or rinse. It does have the door lock light on aswell.

Maytag had huge problems with the motor/motor control parts on the Neptune, and developed a new motor/motor control kit.

Here is the technical bulletin on it.

Before you buy it see if you can do some diagnostic testing. Your model is described in detail at the back of this Neptune service manual.
