All my research seemed to indicate that odds are a bad motor coupling. I replaced this but the old one did not look bad.

Now my problem is worse. First the load of clothes came out soaked more than before and during the second load the capacitor blew up.

A) If the coupling was OK, what was my original problem?

B) Does the capacitor blowing indicate another new problem when I changed the coupling, did I re-assemble something wrong? Or is this part of the whole original problem?

Any ideas?

You may have bent a pin on the motor connector thus shorting the start capacitor to ground.
For the spin problem, you spin basket may not be coming up to speed due to a worn clutch.
