I'm not getting any hot water in my Maytag washer. The hoses are clean, the water valve was shot (I measured the resistance of the hot solenoid and it was infinity), so I replaced the water valve with a new water valve (I confirmed the hot solenoid on the new water valve had proper resistance). Still no hot water. Is there a switch or fuse on the washer that may have to be replaced also, that maybe blew when the solenoid on the water valve failed? Thank you! JW

Just to check the obvious, after you replaced the new hot solenoid, did you turn back on the hot water at your shut-off valve? I ask only because when I hooked my own machine back up after some repairs just yesterday, I had forgetten to turn back on the water at the faucet cut-offs, and it took me a few minutes to realize the mistake.

Otherwise, during a fill period, you can switch your volt/ohm meter to volts and check if the hot solenoid is powered when you think it should be passing hot water. Hook one lead to ground (or short it to meter on the back-plate) and the other to the solenoid hot. (Or measure across both of the two solenoid valve leads). If you have no voltage when you are supposed to be filling, one of the control switches is bad, or one of the other elements in your eletrical network. Time to consult the wiring diagram. (Often on the inside back panel).

Consult your wiring diagram. My guess would be either the temperature selector switch, or the main timer switch. (If it has to be either, hope for the first, its cheaper).

Thanks MesaGuy - it was the temperature selector switch - I replaced it and the washer works perfectly now.
