Model Number: cw6000w Brand: Crosley Age: More than 10 years
I have Crosley Washer and it wont come up to full speed on spin cycle even if it is partially full. I can get it to spin at full speed if it is empty.I think it is the clutch? Any help would be appreciated.

Release the top retaining clips with a putty knife, tilt up and remove front panel. Look for a lot of white plastic shavings on the bottom of frame and also look for water coming from the tub seal above the tranny.

No water coming from the unit and no white shavings. The unit is apart and the basket is removed. Is there a clutch in these units? The unit is about 12 years old, maybe older and i think that the clutch is slipping.I have looked at the schmatic but i don't see a part for a clutch mech. If it's built into the tranney it maybe time to buy a new washer.

Tip the washer back, remove the belt and turn the tranny pulley in the spin direction. The brakes should release and the tranny turn easily. If so, put the belt back on and start the washer in spin while holding the spin basket. If it is easy to hold the basket, you probably have a bad tranny clutch.
If so, I would re-post this as a possible bad clutch to confirm.

If i spin the pulley by hand the the brake releases properly and the tub spins but if i put any pressure on the tub it stops spining quite easily and it feels like it is sliping somewere. Is this the tranny's fault? By the way i do appreciate all the help so far.

If it is really easy to move the tub back and forth and the washer shook a lot in spin, you probably need a new snubber, a worn snubber will partially release the clutch.
