I found little pieces of plastic in my clothes in the washer and found the lip on the plastic "outer tub" that is next to the stainless clothes tub was eaten up and coming apart. I replaced the plastic "outer tub" section only to have it do it again in 2 loads of washing. I ran it empty the first time to check it out after repair and it did fine. I left and came home and my wife had done 2 loads and the plastic lip is all to pieces. I took off the back of the washer and all seems tight with no "slack". Can't figure out why it is eating up the "outer tub". at $100 bucks each, I need some help!!!!!

Without being there to see it I can only guess that the problem is with the support springs. Sometimes they can be bad but the problem is not visible. I would start by replacing them. If they are not the problem, the support shocks may be it, again some problems are just not visible.

Here is a service manual if you do not already have one.
