Here are the parts Replacement parts for MAYTAG A8600 Washer - Top Loading | AppliancePartsPros.comCan be a number of things. Undo the hose at the taps. Run the cold into a pail, just so you can eliminate the plumbing as a cause. Reattach the hose and run that into a pail, sometimes hoses can de-laminate internally and cause no flow. Also check the seal washers sometimes they have filter screens built into them and they may be clogged up. While you have it off check the input side of the machine's water valve, you will see a filter screen built into it. Could be it is clogged up. If it is clean it, do not remove it as it is there to keep crud out of the valve which could hold the valve open and cause a flood. If all the above are OK. Check that the valve is getting power when it should. If you have 120 volts across it and it does not open it is toast. OR Unplug the unit and swap the wires from the cold valve to the hot valve and hot to cold. Now plug it in and give it a try. If you now get cold water (when unit is calling for hot) but no hot water, then you know the cold valve is OK since it works. The problem is therefore electrical and power is not being sent to the cold valve. |
