This is kind of hard to diagnose without more information.

Is the machine stopping full of water, or empty? What cycle is it stopping in?

Give some more detailed information if you can.

Matt

The washer is stopping full of water in the middle of the wash cycle while it is aggitating. We used to be able to pick the lid up and shut it again and it would kick back on, but now it will not start again at all. We have even tried to change the type of cycle when it stops like this... and even then only some cycles will work.

Hmm, depending on exactly where it is stopping, you may have a bad lid switch.

You should be able to hear the lid switch clicking when you open the lid about an inch.

Does the lid switch click?

Matt
