My Maytag washer starts walking across the floor when in the spin cycle. I've checked to make sure it's level. The only thing different is that I installed laminate flooring. Someone suggested that I put a rubber mat down???

It is possible there is a damaged part of the suspension springs or support. Take a look, here is the service manual.

I think it is more likely your floor is the problem. These Performa's are pretty finicky about having a solid concrete floor for support. A laminate floor is very flexible, and I do not think it is suited for a washer, particularly this washer.

I would move the machine to the garage or some place where you have concrete flooring and plug it is and turn it to spin. If it does not bounce around you will have to take up the laminate flooring where it sits so it can sit on a solid floor.
