Machine overfills and won't agitate. I have already replaced the Water Inlet Valve and the Water Level Pressure Switch. The rubber hose to the Water Level Pressure Switch is OK. Water will stop flowing into tub when the electrical cord is pulled out of the wall socket. What could be the cause of the overflow ?

Thanks for the reply but the problem has been solved (I hope).
I cut-off about 1/2 inch from each end of the rubber tube which runs from the water level switch to under the tub. The tube ends were stretched-out which I guess was preventing the correct air pressure from activating the switch in the water level switch.

After successfully washing 4 or 5 wash loads the machine has a new problem. Now, when the control button is set in position to Fill, no water flows into it and it IMMEDIATELY starts to AGITATE... To complicate things - it does not do this consistently. Occasionally it will go through a wash cycle correctly but then go back to no water flow and immediate agitating when the control switch is pulled.
The machine is a Maytag Atlantis Model # MAV7200AWW, Serial # 19160323YZ and has a new WATER LEVEL PRESSURE SWITCH and a new WATER INLET VALVE.
The problem not being consistent seems strange.

Hi Woody
In could be only two things causing such problem: a bad water level switch (unfortunately it could be bad even if it's new) or restricted air flow through the pressure hose. You should carefully inspect the pressure hose, drain out the water, disconnect the hose from the water level switch, blow an air through the hose and reconnect it back.
If the problem still exist then the water level switch has to be replaced.
