Our Maytag LAT9600AAL Top load washer has stopped working after filling with water. Currently all the washer does is make a ticking and buzzing/grinding noise from the timer area. I checked the fuse and it's fine. No matter what setting I select it just keeps making the ticking and buzzing/grinding noise. When I open the lid it stops but continues once I close the lid, I'm assuming the lid switch is working.

Would this most likely be the timer switch?
