I am getting an F 51 error code on my washer, but it is not consistent as far as when in the cycle it does it. I think this is an electrical error but can you tell me more specifically if there is something needing replaced that I can do?

This is a very bad error code, bad in the sense it is non-specific. It is like a communications error, but we cannot be certain if it is in the wiring, control module,, motor or whatever.

If you will insert a thin putty knife in the gap between the front and the top about 6" or so from the edge you will release clips that hold the top to the cabinet. You can raise up the toop and access tech notes which will tell you how to diagnose and test for that error code.
