The drum on my 11-year-old Maytag washer will not spin on spin cycle. The washer fills and drains fine. The agitator works perfectly. But on spin cycle, the water drains, but the drum does not move. It does emit a faint squeal, but other than that, nothing. Any thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds very much like your brake assembly is hung up. This repair requires some special tools, and here is the service manual but given the age of your machine I recommend replacement.
