Model Number: ???? Brand: Frigidaire Age: 5 - 10 years
Our Washing Machine is doing something strange. When it starts to fill the washer for the wash cycle or rinse cycle, it won't let the machine fill up. The water just flows and flows. It's almost like whatever is supposed to close on the bottom (it's a top loader) is not closing so the water is just running right through it instead of filling up. We have to advance it to the spin cycle to get it to stop filling up. What in the world could be going on?

The drain hose goes out the back of the washer and is connected to the faucets in the wall. They are located above the washing machine, they are not lower than the top of the washing machine. The complete Model Number is FWS235RFS6.

Remove the front panel and check the drain pump. If it's always "on" during any cycles (especially during the wash or the rinse cycles) then the timer has to be replaced.
- The part number for the timer is AP2107583 Here are the break down diagrams for the Frigidaire washer Model FWS235RFS6 Gene.

The drain pump is located inside the washer. You have to remove the front panel (#42 on the cabinet break down diagram) to access the drain pump.
Remove the two screws on the bottom of the front panel. Slide the front panel down and pull it toward yourself. The drain pump should vibrate while it's working. Gene.

There is something mysterious going on with your washer and this is beyond my expertise.
Maybe somebody else on the forum can help you better. Gene.
