maytag washer will fill with water, but not agitate or spin

Maytag Washer Will Not Agitate Nor Spin, But Will Fill With Water. The Lid Switch Was Replaced And That Did Not Work.

We need to narrow down the problem.
Take off the belts and see if the motor will run in spin situation. If it does, look for a problem in the pump which may be jamming things and see if the pulley on the transmission will turn in either direction. Here is a service manual. http://www.servicematters.com/maytag...(16001145).pdf
