Model Number: WF337AAG/XAA Brand: Samsung Age: 1 - 5 years
The problem started with an error code "OE" on the panel. According to the user's manual, this indicates "A fault is detected in the water level sensor". Also, the machine kept filling and eventually started pouring out the front door and flooded my garage. I cannot get the door unlocked no matter what I try. I unplugged the washer from the power source and turned back on but same thing. Even when washer was unplugged, water kept filling the washer & pouring out the front door. I turned off the water supply valve and mopped up the garage. Now I am just waiting for a repair person so I can pay to have my < 2 year-old, $2k washer fixed. Help! Anything I can do myself to fix this? Thanks!

It sounds like your water inlet valve is stuck open. You have two on this machine, a hot water and a cold water assembly. You should be able to tell which was stuck from the temperature of the water spilling out.
It is an easy fix. To replace it you take off the top by removing the screws at the rear and pulling back on the top. Unhook the hose to the drain pump and drain the water out of your machine. The door lock on this model is likely set so that you cannot open the door if water is in the machine (they don't want you to flood yourself, but its a little too late for you) You can now access and remove and replace the faulty valve. Put things back together, but leave the top off and see if the machine will start up and the door will open. If your door is still locked you should be able to reach down and find a pull tab around the door lock assembly. Pull gently on this and it should release the door. After up get it back together and drained of water hopefully the error message will clear itself and you will be back in business. Good luck.

I let the water drain out and the door unlucked as you suggested. The guys at Sears repair parts apparently don't know the Samsung machine well. They had a hard time distinguishing between the cold and hot valve in their parts catalog. Now my issue is that I can't get the part for at least 3-7 business days...ughhh! Looks like I may have to call in a repair guy who hopefully has the part. Thanks again!

Well that is not right, besides the parts are very distinguishable. I would not put too much hope in having the repair tech have it on hand.
If you want to pursue it ask your parts supplier or these folks here at APP (we are not connected to them) to cross reference the valve against a Maytag MAH9700 and see if that speeds things up. Just make certain that they warrant that the part is correct for your machine.

This is at the back left side of washer after you remove the top cover. It is about a $30.00 fix you will see 2 valves together. (Hot is the one on the left) & Cold valve on the RIGHT) These Valve usually become defective (Spring breaks inside or sticks) Tap it to see if it releases the spring, if not released order new VALVE. |
