I am about to install the replacement kit for the split agitator on my Whirlpool washer. It indicates the need for agitator grease part #350849. I have been told not to use it as it is not necessary. I do not have the grease. If it is needed, what can be substituted? My wife is in need of her washer.

Thanks

I do not think it is necessary, but if you are concerned post a full model number so we can see exactly what you have.
