I have a maytag washer EEV99413 model. While filling up water for the load, sometimes it starts draining at the same time (no leakage). If I am doing a hot/cold cycle it empties my hotwater tank if I didnt notice and cold water keeps on pouring. Some times it works well at the begining, but in the rinse cycle, the same thing happens. It keeps on pouring water in and draning.. I have to manually skip the rinse cycle, rotate the timer till just before the off mark, take out the wet load, try to make it refill in hte renise load empty, (sometimes I have to try several times) when it starts spinning I re-load the clothes..
What could be the problem?

Assuming the pump/motor isn’t running during fill the water is siphoning out or runinng out the drain and can be caused by a few things.

The drainpipe to your house may be too low and you either need to extend the pipe up above the top of the tub or run the drain hose from your washer up high.

Someone may have taped the drain hose from the washer to the drainpipe to your house to stop the water from backing up. To fix this either clean out the drainpipe to your house and remove the tape or install a siphon break.

If the drain hose from your washer is pushed down the drainpipe too far, this will also cause the same problem. To fix it just pull it out to within about 6 inches of the end of the drainpipe.
