I'm having the exact same problem with a whirlpool LSB6200Q2. Wife was at home when she came into our laundry room and heard a odd buzzing coming from the timing/cycle select control. The washer was full and would not engage the rinse/spin in the cycle. she proceeded to the next available rinse/spin cycle and nothing. Tried the next and it did work. She claims she smelt something burning. I got home and got it to repeat the buzz but turned the dial manually into the rinse/spin and it works on any cycle (5 cycles). I also let it buzz until it stopped and there was no burning smell. I pulled the control panel cover while it was buzzing and noticed that when you changed the angle of the timing/cycle selection control the noise would change from almost silent to very loud. I believe that if I change the controller that it will fix my problem, but the so called burning smell is what makes me wonder. I have the controller out and it has no burned odor and nothing around the washer smells like burning rubber or electrical fire. Just want to try and get a few opinions before I spend the 75 bux. If you guys think it could be something worse this thing is going to the property and getting a few 100 rounds out into it.

I would pull the pump and motor and do the tranny coupler test in my "sticky" above "replacing direct drive washer brake shoes", post results.

who are you responding too???? I have verified that everything works on the washer. It works fine other than it times out when in transition to the rinse/spin to finish the load, and the timing control start making the noise. When you advance it past that point it rinses and spins fine.
