Operates only on Delicate cycle
Model Number: lat 8624 aam Brand: Maytag Age: 5 - 10 years
My Maytag only works on delicate cycle. Is this a problem with transmission or a timer problem?

If the machine will go through the entire wash/spin/rinse/spin process on delicates then that suggests there is nothing mechanically wrong with the washer and the problem is electrical. The timer would seem to be the main suspect. Try to see if it has burnt or broken contacts, and if so replace it. If not, you should check the wiring for a break or short, but you will probably end up replacing the timer on speculation if you do not find any problem with the wiring.
