Want To But a Maytag Front Loader
Model Number: MHW8200 Brand:
Less than 1 year
We have a 12 year GE top loader that we want to replace. The reason we have the GE is because it drains into a standpipe that is 81" from the ground and the GE pump was able to handle it. The 2" diameter standpipe extends about 14" high attached to the U trap that then goes through the basement wall to empty into the house drainage pipe.
We would like to now get a front loader on a pedestal. The first thing I noticed is that the drain connection is near the top back of the machine and not near the floor like the old GE. So if the height of the new machine + pedestal is 53" does that mean the water is only draining/pumping 28" with the new machine (81" - 53")? Is that OK?
Also.....is the 14" length of my standpipe sufficient or does that have to be extended so there is no overflow when the new machine drains?
I hope I am not being confusing. Thank you!
