After replacing the Damper Pads, the washer no longer brakes properly. During the wash cycle when opening the lid, the drum takes about 15 seconds to stop (versus stopping in just a few seconds previously) and during the spin cycle the drum takes about 50 seconds to stop. These conditions did not exist before the damper pad replacement. I thought that the brake was “fail safe” so I am questioning if I may have caused the problem during the disassembly or re-assembly. The lid switch appears to be working properly and the unit goes through the fill, wash, rinse, spin cycle correctly. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
