Hey
With help from online posts, I figured that the clutch was gone in our washer because it wouldn't spin at the end of the rinse cycle. Got the part from APPs and installed it pretty easily. The machine spins fine now, but seems to be louder than it had been. Could it be that the clutch had been gradually wearing down and the machine wasn't spinning properly over the last few months? I had no technical way of adjusting the belt tension so I just plled it "pretty tight" (deflection is supposed to be 1/2"). Could that make things noisier? I appreciate all the help. Related Models |

About all I can say is to continue to operate it. I cannot think of a reason why it should run noisier from what you did, and the belt/pulley/clutch assembly is pretty fixed.
If it continues to be a problem operate it with the front cover off and see if you can locate the source of the added noise.
