On the Whirlpool / Maytag top load 'lid lock' machines, there is a section in the service manual for running it thru a number of tests. Among those tests are the Spin, Agitate and Gentle Agitate tests if I remember right. To perform those tests the lid lock must be engaged. How do you engage the lid lock in the test mode? I don't see anything in the manual explaining that. Thanks.
