Question Samsung VRT Vibrating/Knocking at spin (high RPM)
Model Number: WF330ANB/XAA 01   Brand: Samsung   Age: 5 - 10 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com

I just replaced the shocks on my Sumsung front load washer due to the vibration which made it sound like it was going to fall through the floor. (Your video was super easy to follow)

I've checked the balance and level... I've even tried to readjust the legs but the washer still vibrates and walks at the highest spin cycle.

I feel that it's still something internal but not sure what else to check.

Could the springs that suspend the tub need to be replaced? Or is there something that balances the tub I should check

Thank you
BK

Look at the internal basket. (the stainless steel drum) Spin it by hand and see if it seems to keep an even gap between it and the outer tub. Or does it seem to rotate unevenly?
Also press upward on the inner basket can you make it move up and down or side to side independently of the outer tub?
Open the little trap door at the bottom right corner and open the drain pump clean out. (be prepared there will be a lot of water coming out, have towels or a bucket underneath) Do you see grayish white muck coming out of it?
If so then you have:
1. Broken support (spider arm) most likely
if not this then possibly it may be
2. Bent drive shaft
3. Bad bearings

Thanks for the reply.

When spinning the tub, it rotates evenly. However, if I put my hand on the top inside of the stainless tub I can easily move it front to back.... I am assuming that shouldn't have that freely.

I noticed that movement when I had the top off when I was changing the shocks, it seemed a little to loose, but I didn't notice anything other than the 2 springs suspending and holding the tub in place

How do I know which part is bad

BK

Ok I am assuming it is a problem with the spider arm assembly which is typical with this unit.

This is likely the part you need. Have you checked the drain clean out?

I'll go back and check it. The wife opened it about a month ago because she said she smells an odor. Not a whole lot came out that time

I guess I'll try the spider arm. Hopefully that's as easy as the shocks . Do I also need to order the seal and bearings or are those reusable?

Thanks again

Sorry not nearly as easy as shocks.
Complete dis-assembly of the outer drum.
Bearings and seal should be ok.

Order new bolts with spider arm as those will break off at dis-assembly.

You will need to order all 6 bolts.

Default Repair question

I'm following the on line video. I have removed the tub, and have removed the screws on the outer casing and removed one half of the outer tub.

However, my inner tub does not come out. It appears that I have screws on the back side that need removed. The video did not cover that situation. I have attached a picture.

Thank you for the assistance

Brian

Did you remove the bolt and rotor from the back of the drive shaft?
After separating the outer tub you should be able to remove the inner tub but you have to have removed the bolt that holds the rotor on and pulled the rotor off as well. The rotor may be hard to remove as it is being held by the magnets to the stator. Wiggle it completely off. when it is removed you will see the splined end of the drive shaft. If you take a heavy hammer or small sledge hammer tap the end of the shaft driving loose and pull out the inner basket.

BTW no picture came through.

Thanks.... I did remove the stator and magnets.

I did everything per the video unless I missed a step. I still have an extra weight and another plate on the bottom side of the tub around the shaft. Close to 20 nuts holding the plate on

Picture Reattached

Thank you

No your good. Just take a good sized hammer or a small sledge maul, while holding the outer tub hit the drive shaft with a good swift hit. This will dislodge the drive shaft from the bearings and the inner tub will slide right out.
