My washer was so noisy and stopped spinning in the final rinse cycle. Dummy me I did not check if it quit in the wash cycle or agitate cycle. I thought a coupler so I bought one to put in. Took it apart. Coupler is fine. I replaced it about 2 years ago.
So I took out the motor transmission as your videos describe. Was going to replace the clutch. Didn't see anything weird in the clutch. And the fact it just quit suddenly thought maybe more than just the clutch.
Have the motor and trans out. When I turn the motor shaft I thought the main drive shaft would also turn. It doesn't . Should that shaft turn with the motor. I turn the shaft and no motor rotation. I'm thinking it should and the clutch is what engages the wash barrel . That shaft should turn with the motor?
Then probably transmission broke inside?
Any help is appreciated

The shaft on the transmission is rounded. When I put a drill on that shaft, the clutch part rotates. Should the whole shaft rotate? I ask because HOW did the shaft get so rounded?
How does the transmission and shaft going into barrel work together?
