Thanks to these forums I've fixed many appliances over the years.

This washer is having a spin problem. When the "extra rinse" switch is set to "on", the normal cycle completes (fill/agitate/drain/spin) and then it moves to extra rinse where it fills/agitates/drains, but it never spins. Clothes are left sopping wet. (curiously, there is no spin word on the dial at the end of the extra rinse, but I'm sure it should spin, right?)

Now sometimes also during the normal cycle w/extra rinse OFF, it also does not spin, and clothes are sopping wet.

Usually when this lack of spin happens if I manually advance it back to spin after the load is done and it has moved to OFF, it will then spin. But this doesn't always work.

The lid switch seems solid as during troubleshooting, each and every time I open the lid the machine stops (this is an auto load size sensing machine, so it always stops when lid opened). So it seems lid switch is fine?

I am comfortable replacing parts up to the point of doing major repair (clutch, transmission, motor, etc).

This is in a rental so while I would normally have more time to diagnose and deal with it were it mine, I kind of need to figure this out or buy a new machine fairly quickly.

Thoughts?
