The washer is a front loading LG direct drive washer. In middle of cycle instead of draining it's just making a loud noise. I have removed the pump and put spin cycle on and the part in the pump spins perfectly. I have checked the black rubber pipes for a clog and there wasn't one. Is there another place it could be clogged? Or could it still be the pump even though the part is spinning? Or could it be the direct drive? Although if you start a normal wash cycle the tub does turn.

Have you checked the lint trap in the pump housing? Sometimes those pumps will spin okay with no load and not with water. Was the impellor loose in any way?
