Thin Twin on perm press: continues to fill and dump out on rinse, it never fills the tub, just in and out....I usually only use delicate (2nd washer in home) and it works just fine.
I forgot it was on...and 2 hrs later heard water....went in walk in closet to find it on rinse and water flowing in and going out....cant imagine how much water we wasted! clicked it to spin and spun out water to find it was about half soapy....because the water flowed in and out but never agitated. Weird!

Your water could be siphoning out. If the drain is continuous and has no air break, then all the water can drain out once it starts draining.

I used to see this all the time. Most people wouldn't believe me until I proved it.

Once you notice that the water is coming into the tub and still draining out of the washer, Pull the washers plug/power. If the water continues to drain til the tub is mostly empty, its being siphoned out.
