My machine runs through all cycles except the final drain, then shuts off. When I turn the dial back it drains. There is also a strange odor at about that time.

Can you explain the smell?
Is it like a burning electrical odor?
Does the smell originate from the control panel area or from the bottom of the machine?
A few possibilities:
1. Timer
2. Wiring short from timer to drain pump
3. Drain pump
