The control board on the washing machine keeps burning out. When replacing the boards I am very careful to never touch the circuit board with my bare hands. Sometimes a new board will last a few months and the last one worked problem free for about a year. When the part burns out the machine will no longer "lock" and spin out all the water or spin at full speed.

At $180 each, it gets to be expensive to keep replacing this part. So far, I haven't located the reason this part is burning out. It only burns out in one tiny spot on the control board. Has anyone else had this same problem and how do I fix it?

Which spot does it burn out at?

This model may have wax motors which cause a resistor to burn out but that can be cured by replacing them.

Here is a tech bulletin on your model which may help.

Thanks so much for your help. Right now money is tight and I'm having to be so careful only to buy just exactly what needs replacing. To answer your question about where the control board is burning out, it only burns out on R11. Your service bulletin listed the wax motor as the culprit. I also was studying the wiring diagram and suspected the wax motor as suspect. Thanks again, you made my aunt, an 86 year old widow, relieved and happy. The machine belongs to her and after being in a major car wreck, she is without wheels and can't drive herself to a laundrymat. God bless you for your assistance!

Glad we can help. Change out those wax motors and you should be set to go.
