Hello, I have a new Samsung Washer top load washing machine, the one with the Glass lid and the sink. It is a two piece lid, and it is supposed to have the slow or soft close feature. It does not soft close, it slams shut. If I separate the lids from each other, they will slow close individually, but when the sink and lid are latched together it falls shut.

There has got to be a way to adjust the tension on the hinge mechanism, but I can't find anything. Do any of you know anything about this?

I would call Samsung for warranty, but to tell the truth, I'd rather fix it myself than have to mess with their "Certified Technicians" that they send in from 2 hours away. The last time they tore the washing machine apart 3 separate occasions making it worse each time. Samsung replaced the washer as a lemon... and gave me this one... one that works right.. but the lid doesn't. Is this an easy fix, or do I need to mess with them again?

Thanks for your help...

Sam
