I have a Maytag Bravos XL washer (Model # MVWB750YW0) and it worked great until just after my service warrenty expired. I purchased it from a Rent to Own store. Now I can't do any laundry in it because no matter what cycle you put it on when it gets to the final spin (approx. 12 minutes remaining) it throws a UL error code. It starts its self correcting process and rights itself and starts back at the beginning of the final spin. Then after a couple minutes it throws the UL error code again and starts the self correcting process. This continues until it finally stops trying to correct itself and the washer stops and the lights start flashing. I have tried rearranging the load numerous times to no success. I used to be able to force it to drain and put it on the Rinse/Drain/Spin cycle and get it to finish spinning the clothes out. That is no longer working. It does this even on an empty load.
There is also this squealing sound that the washer makes throughout the entire time that it is running a cycle. The sound reminds me of someone swinging on a rusty squeaky old swing set at the playground.
We have never had a washer that is this "smart" and it is really starting to make us feel stupid. We have went to great lengths to make sure that the washer is completely level.
My husband wants me to have the Rent to Own place come get it and see if they can figure out what is wrong but I would like to see if it could possibly be something we could fix ourselves and avoid service fees and labor costs.
Can anybody please try and help me to figure out what is wrong and to get it working properly again? I would appreciate any input very much.
