Model Number: LSN2000PW Brand: Whirlpool Age: 1 - 5 years
After doing 2 loads of laundry yesterday, the washer stopped spinning. It cycled all the way through and completed the fill for rinse, but did not spin. Advancing the switch, the pump functions and empties the water.
A couple of things. 1) I have tried jumping the lid switch with the same effect as having the lid closed - a humming noise (assuming the motor is trying to turn the basket but cannot generate enough force to make it spin). 2) I have replaced the motor couple as the last was significantly worn. Still not spinning. 3) I took off the gear assembly and checked both the clutch and break. There appears to be plenty of break pad left, I can manipulate the break by hand with a counter clockwise turn and the spring depresses as it should. 4) The clutch is in tact - do not know what signs of wear would look like besides the band being cracked or obviously worn (neither of which is the case). 5) Both the gear case (agitator shaft) and motor spin freely when detached from the basket. I am out of ideas - unless it is a break/clutch issue that I do not have experience enough to discern as I do not know what a properly functioning break/clutch set up looks like. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Blake Ads By Google Related Models |

I am having the same issue, but have a different make and model.
The washer stopped spinning. It cycled all the way through and completed the fill for rinse, but did not spin. I have a Frigidaire AFT7000EE0 front load washer. We cleaned out the drain and found and remove about 3 coins. Reassembled and then tried another load. The washer stopped spinning. It cycled all the way through and completed the fill for rinse, but did not spin. AGAIN. Can someone suggest what I can do to troubleshoot OR what else I might need to do??? |
