Just noticed some oil has leaked from my washer when I moved it temporarily. It is a small amount, about the size of 2-3 quarters on the floor. This machine is 10-11 years old and has been used by just myself for the whole time. Can anybody recommend if it is worth pursuing repair (of the gearbox I would assume) with a machine this old? Other than the oil leak the machine runs well. It is a Whirlpool LXR6432JQ1. I saw the price of a new gearbox assembly was about $180 which wouldn't make sense to pay, but maybe a repair of the gearbox would be more affordable if done by myself. But it is 10-11 years old... Any advice welcome!
I'll add that I saw some shredded black rubber material near the oil. Maybe this is a coupling falling apart?? Thanks-
