My Whirlpool Duet will agitate, but not initiate spin cycle (I get a repetitive beep and red flashing light on control panel at this cycle.) I live outside the US and had a certified repairperson view the washer (said I need a 'tarjeta de velocidad', which would translate to 'speed card', but 'tarjeta' may also refer to a control panel.) I was quoted over $400 for the part here in Costa Rica (painful for a machine that was just a few weeks out of warranty!!), and am hoping to order it in the US to bring it back with me to save on the cost. Can you please recommend the correct part that I should order?

First of all it can be one of several parts that could be the problem and they are all expensive. About the only thing I can suggest is that you use the tech notes under the top or inside the lower service panel to try and generate error codes that will help you. And my real advice is to try and get a basic top loader with no electronics as that is the most economical thing to do.
