Question HE F25 error repair
Model Number: 110.46462501   Brand: Kenmore   Age: 1 - 5 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com
I have tried every test in the service manual, but I have yet to narrow the problem to any component. My guess is the ccu, but living on social security, I can't afford to be playing musical chairs with expensive components.
In running all the tests, they never mention the front and rear interlocks being taped closed, so I did that too. Still get the F25 error.(add a garment, spin, and clean). Sure could use some help. Thanx

Diagnosing this model is extremely difficult even for experienced techs. This error message is one of the worse, because it does not pin anything down and you have to choose among some expensive parts.

First look at the wiring between the motor control unit and the ccu. Make sure it is ok, and if so, try to do some testing on the MCU.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. I checked all connections and slipped all connectors in and out three times to see if there was any bad connections.. The next question would be : how, and what should I check on the MCU ? Thanks

The tech sheets you have should give you some information. If the tech sheets do not give you anything about it the only thing you can do is to determine if current is getting to it. This means you will have to change it out to determine if it is the problem.

Sid,
I really appreciate your input. I want to give you more a little more info about what I've done, which leads me to believe it's the CCU.
Early on in my testing, I ran the diagnostic test, and the machine went through the cycle flawlessly, but did not make it to the "clean clothes" end.
It stopped very near the end, after the motor had gone through all the correct gyrations (wash, reverse wash, slow spin, fast spin,rinse...etc).
I believe that when it stopped, one of the wash selection (I think it was "normal/casual") leds was on.
I say "I believe" because I never could get to repeat the test.
Now when I attempt the diagnostic test, the "lock door" led comes on, and the pump runs, When I push the 2nd rinse button again to advance to the next step of the test procedure, the machine stops, the "normal/casual' led lights up, the "door lock" led stays on, and the "stop/pause" button has no effect and I must pull the plug to shut it down. The door remains locked until I push the "on" button, and then I can push the stop button to shut the machine off. What do you think ?

That does sound like a CCU problem. I just wish there were a way to test it out but I cannot find anything. Good luck with replacing the CCU, and let us know how it turns out as we need all the info on this model as we can get.

Hey Sid,
I guess I'll have to bite the bullet (soon as I get some cash).
Anybody else wanna' vote for the CCU ?
I sure would like some better odds on the gamble.
Thanks again,
Rich

Hey Sid,
I got a tip that suggested that the trouble was the water level pressure switch. I plugged and un-plugged it a couple of times, tapped it lightly with a screwdriver, "AND IT WORKED" !!!!
tHANKS FOR YOUR HELP AND I HOPE THIS HAS HELPED OTHERS.
