I have a Maytag top loader washer model LAT9706AAE.

At first the machine started making a loud squealing noise and smoking. Replaced the burnt out drive belt but still could not turn the drum. Replaced the transmission and tub bearing.

Now, agitation cycle works fine, but the spin cycle is causing an issue. It will only complete the spin cycle with an empty tub, even with a mini "water" only load unit stops spinning after 5 or so seconds. I have to let it sit for 5-10 minutes and try running the spin cycle again. I eventually had to empty the tub manually to get the spin cycle to start up.

Any thoughts?
