Spin cycle not working

Model Number: LW8303W2B Brand: Amana Age: 5 - 10 years

I have an amana washer - not that old - does not get that much use - it will go through all cycles except spin - there is a "hot" smell when it gets to that cycle and it shuts itself off. Is it the motor? Please help.
