I have a Whirlpool washer which i cannot find the model number on. When set to hot there is no hot water and when set to warm it is not warm. If I turn off the cold water at the valve then hot comes out. The washer was making a loud banging sound when switching between hot and cold prior to it failing. I am planning on replacing w10144820 but want to be sure i am taking the correct approach.
