I have a whirlpool ultimate care 2. The other day when doing a load of laundry the washer filled up and when it started to agitate it seems to have locked up. I checked the motor and it spins free going into the gear box. When I turn it on all I get is a buzzing sound that seems like it's coming from the timer. Depending on where the timer is set it has a low buzz to a loud buzz. Any one have any thoughts as to what might be wrong?

Thanks, Jeff

Hi Jeff

The question we would have is what happens if you manually move the timer to other positions? Will the machine go into the drain, spin and rinse cycles? If it does, then the buzzing may be from the timer motor that turns the timer and a new timer will be in order.
