Have a Maytag Neptune MAH4000AWW.
I replaced the bearings 8yrs ago. When I did it I could not get the "Bearing Spacer" to fit back in correctly. The bearing would not seat in far enough to get the C clip back in. I studied the configuration and could not understand the purpose for the spacer, both bearings seemed to be seated on a lip with the spacer out and i could not understand why the spacer was there to begin with. So, I left it out. had no problems. Those bearings I put in lasted 2 times longer than the originals. What is the purpose of the spacer? BTW, I'm needing to do it again, soon. ;-)
