My washer is extremely loud. Continues throughout cycle. I just ran a short cycle without any clothes in it to see if it was still noisy and it was just as loud. Please advise. Thanks

Hi, Karen.
There are several things that may cause the noise. But first I suggest you check the drain pump. Unplug and tilt the washer back so you can see what's under. Remove the drive belt and turn manually the pump pulley (it's on the right). If it's noisy - replace it. In order to provide you with correct part I would also need a washer serial number.
Thank you.
Simon.

Hi Simon, Thank you for your assistance. I removed the belt attached to 3 pulleys. All pulleys turned without any noise but the one in right rear of washer had slight friction and looks like there is a small chip in the metal of the (bearing?). If that is drain pump, it looks different from photo of parts list I have. Is that the problem? Serial #12598845YU. Thanks Karen

Hi, Karen. You drain pump should look like this Part number: AP4372886
It's easy to replace, just take out three 5/8" screws and use a channel locks pliers to take the two hose clips off. Also consider replacing the drive belt Part number: AP4024823
And check and clean the motor plate. Motor should glide free left and right. Thanks. Simon.
