Hi,

I have a Kenmore 41797812702 washer/dryer. When I select the cycle, washer fills with water but does not agitate. I have to move the timer to the next cycle (which is rinse) and it automatically drains the water and starts. I have to do the same thing to put the washer in the spin cycle.

I do not think that the lid switch is not working because when I open the lid during rinse, the washer stops draining. I think it is the timer, what can I look for in the timer to see if it is damaged? Could it also be the water level control that is not sending the signal that it has filled or drained the water?

Thanks for the help!

Since it stops filling that suggests the timer if hte problem. Go ahead and replace it and see if that fixes things. If it does not you can return the part if you buy it from this site.
