Model Number: GVW9959KQ2 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 1 - 5 years
My problem is.. the washer display reads 7 and extended spin is lit up and the soft signal is lit up and that is all it will do, no buttons will respond. I think I replaced the motor control board a year or two ago. It worked fine up till now.
Thanks for any help ! Related Models |

Well, the likely problem is with the machine control unit, this part here,
Part number: AP3837551 and note the comments on the part. Since it is expensive, try to put the machine in test mode and try to test the board. Here is a service manual which will show you how. https://secured.whirlpool.com/Servic...LE/8178010.pdf

Thank you so much for your time ! The control buttons will not respond to anything . So I can't do any key pad tests . If I press cancel the display blinks off and comes right back on 7.... I do think it is the control board.
Again thank you so much ! |

I agree, but you can see the problem with microprocessor controls that are designed to detect problems. What happens when the microprocesor goes out?
I am afraid you will have to purchase the part to determine if it is bad.
