the washer has a fill tray for the soap and softener, the soap works just fine but the softener does not go, it just stays in the tray! Whats up????

The cold water is not being diverted through the softener lines when the machine is filling for the rinse cycle. Try changing out the cold water valve and see if that fixes things. If you buy from this site and that does not fix the problem you can return the part.
